Leading Public Healthcare Organisation Evaluate DSI System
DSI receives impressive feedback on a system that supports the management and delivery of primary care information to healthcare professionals.
Monday 29th May, 2006 (Cork, Ireland)—DeCare Systems Ireland (DSI), a leading provider of software development and Internet solutions, announced today evaluation results of a new Intranet-based Electronic Patient System (EPS) recently implemented for a leading Public Healthcare Organisation.
The DSI designed and developed .NET based patient tracking system supports the management and delivery of primary care information to healthcare professionals in Ireland. Implemented in June 2005, the system was recently internally reviewed by the relevant healthcare user groups – Doctors, Counselors, Outreach Dept, Laboratory Dept, General Assistants, Admin staff, Nurses and Social Workers.
The Healthcare Organisation’s findings proved to be exceptionally positive.
Their review of the system showed that it exceeded users expectations providing a centralised access point to the groups, facilitating comprehensive patient data accessible in real time to all healthcare stakeholders.
A number of benefits were repeatedly identified across the client’s multi-disciplinary organisation. One of the key points made in the evaluation was the systems provision of a central share point of information. The findings showed that providing this holistic view of the organisation enhances the communication flow, allows for better scheduling and fosters rapid decision-making for the individual user groups.
According to the review, access to this centralised tracking system instils user confidence that the information retrieved is both real time and accurate, thus facilitating quick patient delivery. Quick record retrieval, ease of use and security were also prioritised by the healthcare users in their evaluation.
Coming from a string of successes in the International market with high profile global clients such as Avon, Amazon, Expedia and Mastercard, DSI exploited it’s knowledge from multiple industries for the development of this public healthcare solution. The Cork based organisation is a prime example of the type of company Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Michael Martin was referring to in his recent speech at the annual conference for the Irish Software Association (ISA). Minister Martin alluded to the fact that many Irish Software companies are experiencing significant success overseas, however are struggling to prove themselves competent enough for Irish Public Sector projects. “At home we have a bit of work to do in convincing our own public sector of the quality that the Irish software industry has to offer,” he said.
John Murphy, Director of Operations, DeCare Systems Ireland Ltd commented on the review findings; “ We’ve built a solid International reputation working across a multitude of industries from healthcare to eCommerce in the past 8 years. Implementing such a successful system for an Irish public sector organisation demonstrates our ability to apply our differentiated knowledge and capabilities gained overseas here at home. This evaluation should encourage Ireland’s public sector to use more technology that has been developed by the indigenous software industry.”
