Avon Launches Product Recommendation Engine

(Cork, Ireland) March 31, 2008 — The award winning Avon.com website has launched their online Beauty Profiler using a DSI-built Product Recommendation Engine.

Implemented for the skincare product range initially, the system allows customers to take an online survey and save the recommended results to their beauty profile, as well as adding the products to their shopping basket. Customers with their own Avon representative's will have their recommendations emailed direct to their representative and stored on their own profile. The application also acts as a customer management tool allowing Avon representative's take the online survey for their customers and have the results emailed to their customers.

Designed to enrich the experience of online shoppers while increasing sales revenues for Avon, the recommendation engine is built in flash and is fully integrated into the application using XML configuration files. DSI has been instrumental in rolling out an enhanced global web platform that features tools and services to support the company’s network of sales representatives in more than 100 countries.
