DSI Posting Blog Entries From RailsConf 2006
June 27, 2006 (Cork, Ireland) — DeCare Systems Ireland Senior Developer, Noel Keating, will be posting daily entries from RailsConf 2006 on the DSI blog site. Providing an interesting insight from the first official International Rails Conference, Noel will blog on the key note speeches and the general industry buzz surrounding the 3-day Chicago event.
Organised by Ruby Central Inc, RailsConf 2006 will see some infamous Ruby gurus take to the stage: Martin Fowler, Paul Graham, Dave Thomas and David Heinemeier Hansson, to name a few of the keynote speakers. Attendees will hear a range of topics from Ajax on Rails to Deploying Rails Applications to selling music in the 21st Century.
Ruby on Rails is an open source web application framework written in Ruby that strives for simplicity, allowing real-world applications to be developed in less code than other frameworks and with a minimum of configuration. DSI has also launched a number of web facing applications over the years using both Java and .NET technology, but has recently favoured the use of Ruby to build user interfaces on recent web application projects.
