DSI Awarded Service Orientated Architecture Development Contract By Prestigious US Client
November 17, 2005 (Cork, Ireland) — DeCare Systems Irelandsm
(DSI), a leading provider of software development and Internet solutions,
announced today the signing of a development contract for the implementation
of a Service Orientated Architecture (SOA) toolkit for one of the worlds
most successful eCommerce enterprises. Frequently exceeding over 16,000,000
unique visits a month, DSI's client processes thousands of secure transactions
a minute through its US operation.
Through consultation with the client, DSI produced a comprehensive SOA
framework document which will serve as the basis for all future software
development initiatives. The SOA framework document details the implementation of
a consistent web services API across multiple languages, providing abstraction of
some of the more fine grained implementation details of web services, along with
a set of processes to support coding, building, packaging, deployment, testing
and management of a web services infrastructure.
The DSI SOA framework utilizes Aspect Oriented (AO) principles to implement
crosscutting functionality. This AO centric framework is easily extensible and
can transparently accommodate future functionality. One of the key benefits of
this approach in a Web Services context, is the ability to easily react to the maturing WS-* standards.
The new development project will produce a tailored Web Services toolkit which provides
an abstraction layer that masks the more granular web services implementation details.
The first deliverable for the client will be a transparent WS-Security compliant Web Service
implementation.
